Xalta Food and Beverages Hapur bottling plant machinery up for e-auction at ₹41.82 crore
The plant and machinery of Xalta Food and Beverages Pvt Ltd, a beverage maker that has been in insolvency proceedings for more than eight years, will be put up for e-auction on October 21 at a reserve price of ₹41.82 crore.
The sale is being run by CA Pankaj Gupta, who was appointed court commissioner for the company by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), New Delhi Bench-II, on August 10, 2026. According to the sale notice published on October 10, the auction is being held pursuant to orders of the Supreme Court and the NCLT.
The assets on offer are the company’s manufacturing equipment at Khuleech Nagar, Dhoulana, Pilkhuwa, in Hapur district of Uttar Pradesh. They include syrup preparation, blending, bottle blowing, PET filling, thermal processing, carbonated soft drink (CSD) processing and packaging, and juice processing lines, along with a quality control laboratory. Utilities such as compressed air, water treatment, boiler and steam, chilling, electrical power and CO2 systems are also part of the sale. The notice covers only plant and machinery; it does not list the land or factory building.
Bidders must deposit earnest money of ₹4.18 crore, or 10% of the reserve price, and submit bids by Saturday, October 17. The auction will begin at 11 am on October 21 on the Baanknet platform, with bids rising in increments of ₹10 lakh.
The sale is on an “as is where is, as is what is, whatever there is and no recourse” basis. The reserve price excludes taxes, stamp duty, registration and transfer charges, which the buyer must pay. Bidders must also give an undertaking that they are not ineligible under Section 29A of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC); their earnest money can be forfeited if they are later found ineligible.
The NCLT admitted Xalta into the corporate insolvency resolution process (CIRP) on July 25, 2018, in CP (IB) 702 (ND)/2018. In September 2025, the company’s resolution professional had invited expressions of interest from prospective resolution applicants.
The case has also drawn the Supreme Court’s attention this year. In April, a bench of Justices J.B. Pardiwala and K.V. Viswanathan pulled up the resolution professional and the committee of creditors for not honouring their commitment to pay monthly compensatory rent of about ₹50.55 lakh to Prerna Singh, who had leased two warehouses to the company, and ordered them to hand over the premises within a week. In May, the court directed the Hapur Superintendent of Police to break open the locks and give the landlord full possession of the warehouses, holding the conduct of resolution professional Naveen Kumar Jain contemptuous.
